You’ve probably already seen this plastered all over the news, but we thought it best to bring you up-to-date with the changes in The Scout Association’s brand.
The evolution of the Scout brand, from Baden Powell, to today.
The whole Scout brand has undergone an extensive redesign, with changes in logos, colours, typefaces and the way we speak and write about scouting. The Scout Association says the new brand will:
- Help Scouting grow
- Make the movement more inclusive
- Make scouting more Youth shaped
- Making a bigger impact in local communities
The new font- Nunito Sans.
What does Bear say?
‘This is an incredible moment for UK Scouting, we’ve got a new vision, a new brand and renewed determination to change lives for the better. It’s a vision that inspires me and I hope it inspires you too. Now let’s get out there and deliver this amazing plan together.’
-Bear Grylls, Chief Scout

What are we doing?
Here at Scout Sites, one of our main principles is that we take care of the boring website design and maintainence, so that you can focus on what’s important to you. As part of our guarantee when you start a contract with us, is that we’ll always edit your website to the latest branding specifications.
Therefore, we’re redesigning our themes and templates to bring them in line with the new branding and strategy- we’ll take care of new logos, fonts, colours and pictures where appropriate, and of course keep you posted on our progress.
We recommend that you have a look through your current website and bring the text and content up-to-date with the new “sound” that The Scout Association uses, which is the words, phrases and tone of voice we use.
We’ll be implementing our changes in the next few months, with an aim of all websites updated fully by September 2018. This is a large and rather time-consuming task for us, so we do ask that you bear with us as we carry out this process.
As always, if you spot any problems or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our support centre here.
